The alternative instrumentation is contained only in the 1674 edition entitled Supellex sonatarum selectarum. . . . It is identical to the 1670 edition but gives the following alternative instrumentation in the partbook headings: Ctto o VI, Ctto o VII, Trb o VaI, Trb o VaII, bTrb o Vo, Bc.
