Remarks: This set of pieces was especially composed for a Stadtpfeiffer audition in Zeitz that took place in St. Michael’s after the sermon on Trinity Sunday 1701. The candidate, Martin Winckler, was obviously required to play the solo instrumental part—cornettino, violin, and trombone, respectively— in each of the ritornelli as well as one of the parts in the sonata and aria.
