Remarks: The table of contents found in several of the parts contains the annotation 5. Equal. 1 Cornett undt 3 posaunen con Basso (or a variant thereof ). In the parts, the movement headings read: Cornetto. Adagio. Lamento. (Vio-lino Primo partbook), Alto Tromba. Adagio. Lamento. (Violino 2do partbook), Tenore Tromba. Adagio. Lamento. (Viola obligata partbook), and A 4 Instromenti. Quart Posaun. Adagio. Lamento. (Basso Cembalo. Violone partbook). This short movement of only six measures is the earliest known antecedent to the equali composed some seventy years later by Beethoven. Remarks: Manuscript 69A consists of three partbooks (a fourth partbook is lost) and probably dates from the mid-17th century.
